Forum Post: RE: TMS320F28379D: Software Continuous Forced Action on EPWM

Hello, I already took this into account. My RLDCSF bit is well configured, and I expected that the continuous action would take effect on the next TBCLK edge. But it seems it takes effect on the next PWM period. The TRM mentions continuous pulses for the Continuous Software Forced Action. But I did not understand what are these pulses. Are they linked to the Sync pulses ? These are configured to be generated at each period actually.

Hi Daisuke, You are not able to see the register values because it seems that the PRU clocks are not initialised at this point and the connection is failing with "(Connecting : In Reset)" next to the core. Couple of questions: What is the board initialised with - SBL NULL or something else? Is this the empty example the customer is loading on R5F? - software-dl.ti.com/.../EXAMPLES_PRU_EMPTY.html Regards, Nitika

Part Number: LP-MSPM0L2228 Tool/software: Hello, I'm trying to communicate to a target using I2C bus, but there is something odd I need to clarify. How to read a byte from the target device using I2C: send start, send device address (write), receive ack, send register address, receive ack, send repeated start, send device address (read), receive ack, receive byte, send nack, send stop. From a driverlib point of view, I'm trying to set up this transaction using DL_I2C_startControllerTransferAdvanced(I2C_ACCELEROMETER_INST,writeAddress,DL_I2C_CONTROLLER_DIRECTION_TX,0x01,DL_I2C_CONTROLLER_START_ENABLE,DL_I2C_CONTROLLER_STOP_DISABLE,DL_I2C_CONTROLLER_ACK_ENABLE), but I got no reply. Analyzing the bus I found that a stop condition is sent anyway: I followed the i2c polled example provided in MSPM0 SDK 2.02.00.05. Target device is NXP's FXLS8964AF (on this evaluation board ).

Forum Post: RE: MSPM0L2228: Can no longer debug anything, call stack indicating 0xFFFFFFF8

Hi Guillaume, From a starting point of CCS Theia 1.5.1, and debug probe version 3.0.0.32, we have done the following: Download and install CCS 20.0.1. Build and attempt to debug with CCS 20.0.1, that flashed the debug probe to version 3.0.0.33. Attempting a debug session, resulted in no code execution as previously shared, the stack trace always showing 0xFFFFFFF8. Using CCS Theis 1.5.1 with debug probe version 3.0.0.33 still did not work. Reverting the debug probe firmware to 3.0.0.32 still did not work. Only a re-install of CCS Theia 1.5.1 used with debug probe firmware to 3.0.0.32 allowed us to debug again. Since then, debugging with CCS Theia 1.5.1 and debug probe firmware version 3.0.0.33 has been working too, suggesting the re-install changed something required to get it working. These steps were recently performed again with CCS 20.0.2 and debug probe version 3.0.0.35, and the same behaviour was observed in terms of not being able to start a debug session.

Hi Srividya, As we discussed in the call, please try to use below code for the testing: (+) [FAQ] TMS570LC4357: Examples and Demos available for Hercules Controllers (E.g. TMS570x, RM57x and RM46x etc) - Arm-based microcontrollers forum - Arm-based microcontrollers - TI E2E support forums In this code I am trying to write in the same back (BANK-0) where API routines are executing and here, we are copying the FAPI routines to the RAM before executing them. This is tested code, so try to follow the same method with your code as well to avoid data abort. -- Thanks & regards, Jagadish.

Bolt, Really thanks for the background. So the GPIO IRQ will not be delay at all. But the IRQ service routine will be delayed by USB communication’s register read operations then resulting in control cycle delays. Is my understanding correct? For inter-core synchronization, will the data be exchanged via internal Data RAM? Do you use the USB communication R5F core do copy or use DMA to copy data? If the GPIO input signal is generated by FPGA then probably you can use interrupt to trigger DMA copy without R5F involve. Can the inter-core synchronization be complete by DMA copy? BR, Rich

Part Number: MSPM0G3507 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8329 Tool/software: Hi expert, When the motor rotates, I hear high-frequency sounds in the 5khz and 10khz frequency range. What is this? And could this feature possibly cause noise? MCUs from other companies with the same motor do not produce such high-frequency sounds. I think this is a software issue. The software uses the same algorithm used in the example: C:\ti\mspm0 sdk_2_03_00_07\examples\nortos\LP MSPM0G3507\motor_control_pmsm_sensorless_foc\sensorless-foc DRV8329. Forum Post: TMS320F28388D: Issue with Ethernet Example

Part Number: TMS320F28388D Tool/software: Hi everyone, I'm working with the TMS320F28388D and using the example ethernet_ex1_basic_tx_rx_loopback from the C2000 library to understand the basic operation of the Ethernet connection on the board. However, after running the example, I haven't seen any data being received. The only modification I've made is changing the MAC address in the code as follows: // //Form the unicast Packet in Memory // for(i=0;i<PACKET_LENGTH/4;i++) { // //First 6 bytes of the packet are the MAC Destination Address //Bytes, the Destination and CRC shall be inserted by the hardware // if(i == 0) *((uint32_t *)pData + i) = 0x3C8CF8F6; else if(i == 1) *((uint32_t *)pData + i) = 0xFFFF5C2D; else HWREG((uint32_t *)pData +i) = 0xFFFFFFFF; } Despite this, when I run the command Get-NetAdapterStatistics -Name "Ethernet 3" in PowerShell, I still see ReceivedUnicastPackets as 0. Is there any video or document that explains how to properly use this example? Or could someone help me with the correct steps to get this example working? Thanks in advance!

Hi Stefano, I see that the value corresponding to MDIO_ALIVE_REG ( 0x3001FF08) is 0x06 --> which means that both the PHYs at address 1 and 2 are alive. Regarding the MDIO_LINK_REG (0x3001FF0C), I see that the value is 0x02 --> which means that the link up is detected only for the PHY at address 1. Do you have an ethernet link up for the PHY at the address 2 (TJ1100) as well? Regards Archit Dev

Part Number: MSP430FR2475 Tool/software: Hi Team The Firmware upgrade is done using BSL rocket tool using BSL scripter command line tool through UART. Can you please suggest for the below case if firmware can be upgraded? When code / firmware is already running in MSP430-FR-2475 and in between if we connect rocket tool to the connector, Will it enter in BSL mode when we execute the BSL scripter command line or there is other way we have to follow to get into BSL mode like reboot the target MSP430FR2475 MCU or something? Can you please guide how this BSL invocation takes place during running the target system? Thanks Nitish
