I've been using the same crystal that's in the EK-LM3S6965 (NX5032GA...) but that part went out of stock with a long leadtime. I need to find a substitute and didn't find anything exact. That part has a Frequency Stability of +/- 50ppm, Freq. Tolerance of +/- 50ppm, and load capacitance of 8pF. We were following the reference design and using it with 18pF load caps.
The part that Digi-Key proposed as an equivalent is the TXC 7A-25.000MAAE-T which has better Freq. stability and tolerance (+/- 30ppm for each) but a load capacitance of 12pF. I RTFM, specifically Table 22-30 of the LM3S6965 datasheet. It lists shunt capacitance (easy requirement to meet) but does not list required load capacitance for the Ethernet crystal. To cut to the chase, will this part work? Secondly, should I change the load capacitor values or leave them as 18pF.
