Thanks Charles for getting back to me :-) I did not understand what do you want me to try? The fact the modem is acting as a transparent link should have nothing to do with the MCU. In fact, the modem code is not on the MCU it self. The modem code is running on a second TI DSP chip C6000 chip.. The MCU is mainly used as the interface to the user (Ethernet, RS232 routing...). The MCU sends the Ethernet packet to the C6000 which modulates and forward the Ethernet packet as is to its destination C6000 chip which forward it to the destination MCU and finally forwarded to the destination IP. The same process is applied in reverse direction. If need to be, the C6000 could even be removed from the path and just connect the MCU's together using any of the available interfaces. In addition, when the Mac filters are disabled, the communication between the source IP and the destination IP works well. I want to find an explanation that I can present to the customers. How did the development team test this feature? Our customer will not accept undocumented behavior. Khaled.
