Forum Post: MSP430FR5969: How to unlock JTAG via CCS after overwriting entire FRAM address space

Part Number: MSP430FR5969 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET , Tool/software: Hello, as part of a security initiative I was tasked with securely erasing the FRAM of an MSP430FR5969. ISO standards for secure erase are to write multiple passes to the entire address space - random data, all 0x00's and all 0xFF's. After downloading an image with random data that filled the address range 0x0'4400 - 0x1'3FFF I am no longer able to program new images. I am using Code Composer Studio 12.2 and an MSP-FET JTAG programmer. CCS throws an error saying the device is locked. This is confusing as the documentation states that certain values need to be written to specific memory locations to set a password, and the values for those locations in the downloaded image do not match the stated requirements. Is there something else going on or did I actually manage to set a password? Turning to recovery, I've read up on using the MSP Bootloader to unlock the device and I have the image that was downloaded, so I can probably figure out what "password" was written to the configuration memory. Is there a way to generate the needed boot signals to the JTAG RST and TEST pins via CCS? Or do I need to come up with some other solution to drive those pins with the required timing to enter BSL mode? Or is there some other way to unlock this?
