I want to know how the value of the above register is calculated in the original routine. How can I modify the configuration according to the flash datasheet?
The datasheets for the flash and F2837x include timing requirements for proper operation. The EMIF timing registers should be programmed such that the setup and hold times are satisfied for both devices. Typically, the values are manually calculated. For convenience, a configuration spreadsheet tool is included in the reference design directory (\C2000Ware\boards\TIDesigns\F28379D_EMIF_DC) to calculate reasonable starting point values. There is also an emif_dc flash example (\C2000Ware\device_support\f2837xd\examples\cpu1\emif_dc_flash) with timing values that work on the reference design. This EMIF appnote describes the configuration tool in the appendices.
Are the two pins BYTE# and WP# in the figure above suspended?
As I answered in this seemingly related post ( ), the BYTE and WP signals are pulled up on the reference design. The "X" indicates that Altium warnings are suppressed on the signals.
